Hi all, we are employing (directly) an e-Commerce Developer - Perl (permanent)
location: West London, Zone 2

A self-starting Developer required for exciting Luxury online retailer.
 
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in an ecommerce environment (online sales)
 
Required Skills--
Perl, HTML, CSS, CGI Scripting, SQL, JavaScript, E-commerce (transactional) development experience, Windows
 
Desirable advantageous--
ePages/Intershop, IIS administration skills, Sybase, SAP, Webservices/SOAP, PHP, DHTML, MOD Perl, Payment Gateways (Worldpay, Datacash etc), Flash Action scripting. Any knowledge of Java would be highly regarded.
 
You should have good problem solving abilities and be able to use your initiative.
 
An amount of commercial acumen would be favourable, and the ability to translate business requirements into solid, working technology solutions - will be viewed as a real asset.
 
You should also have an enquiring mind and be prepared to challenge the status quo and come up with new ideas.
You will have great opportunities to learn and develop, while working with a very experienced and knowledgeable ecommerce team
 
Examples of the types of technology you would have had experience with
- Product merchandising solutions
- Session management
- Shopping baskets
- Payment and transactional gateways
- Content Management and caching technologies
- User registration and customer management systems
- ERP systems (such as SAP)
 
The daily role will involve liaising with Design and content teams, working closely with the eCommerce manager and COO.
Typical tasks include:
- Development and improvement of the current site and evolution of the ecommerce platform
- Managing and monitoring quality of service of the ecommerce environment
- Production of new functionality within our CMS (ePages using Perl) and integrating front end content with backend systems
- Ensuring integrity of data and systems to very high standards
 
This is a brand new business with the first of many websites to come in progress.
We have has very ambitious growth plans and accordingly this is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to get involved at ground level in this exciting new business

Start date: ASAP
Salary: £35-£45,000 commensurate with experience and skills + healthcare
