Permanent Web Developers required - Northwest London (Park Royal area)

 

 

My client is part of an Anglo-French group of companies and Europe's largest online photo service. The emphasis is on very high quality customer service and products for which they have won many awards. The group has technology teams and production operations in London and Paris. The company is still growing quickly.

 

 

Main Purpose of the job:

 

To work with in-house web developers and designers to develop pages and components of a major website relaunch across Europe using LAMP technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl) on-time and to specification.

 

 

Relationships

*	Reporting to the Web Development Manager in London. 
*	Working under the co-ordination of the lead developer. 

 

Main Tasks of Job and Skills required

*	Follow existing project specifications and timescales. 
*	To provide high quality source code commenting and accompanying documentation. 
*	Excellent working knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Javascript, XML and AJAX methodologies. 
*	Some requirements to develop components of our web platform in Object-oriented Perl and Mason. 
*	Ensure appropriate use of object / translation layers according to our internal API. Experience of web services would be very useful. 
*	Use SVN to manage source code and releases. 

Other requirements

 

The candidate must be a well organised individual and clear communicator. They must have a track record of strong productivity in a development environment.

 

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the changing nature of the project.

 

It would be an advantage for the candidate to speak French although this is not essential.

 

This is a permanent role with a Salary up to £25,000 + Benefits
