RE: Senior Ubuntu/Debian Systems Administrator required - London.

My client, a market-leading social-networking company based in Central
London, currently seeks a senior systems administrator to join their
expanding team.

I'm looking for a very driven and totally hands on individual,
preferably with managerial/mentoring experience, who can break down
projects for more junior staff and act as an escalation point for
high-level issues. The organisation is growing very fast; so this role
is going to require someone flexible, a good learner and someone with
a strong sense of ownership of the company's infrastructure and
services. Ideally you'll have the know-how to slowly and steadily
improve the working environment, as well as scale a rapidly growing
infrastructure.

The key technologies that the client is working with are:

- Ubuntu and Debian Unix
- 3 tier architecture based on lighttpd, Django and PostgreSQL
- Jabber IM server
- Flash media server
- Munin, nagios and awstats
- Some use of Amazon cloud storage services

Experience in all of the above is not essential, but of course the
more you can bring to the party the better. Candidates will be judged
more because of their attitude, company fit and focus on the service
needed to make things work reliably, stably and scalably rather than
on their specific technical skills.
