Photobox is looking to hire an experienced front-end web developer who
also has knowledge of object-oriented Perl to work within one of the
three scrum teams and help enhance the front-end controller and view
components of our e-commerce website.

The candidate will have had experience of working in fast-paced web
development teams and have a track record of delivering on-time and to
specification.

The role is based in our Paddington office and is offered as a permanent
position at £30-45k p.a. depending on experience.

Photobox Group is a 10 year-old Anglo-French company, pioneering and
leading the European online photo market. The group is profitable and
has a turnover of around 60M€ in 2009 with continuing strong growth of
30%-40% YOY. The emphasis is on very high quality customer service and
innovative personalised products. We have technology teams and
production operations in London and north-west Paris (Sartrouville).
Photobox has 11m members across Europe and has received over 2 billion
uploaded photos.

The required technical skills are:

 * XHTML – at least five years' experience with a good working knowledge
   of cross-browser/cross-OS compatibility issues and an awareness of
   standards compliance
 * CSS – experience as above
 * JavaScript – at least three years' experience
 * Object-oriented Perl

The following technical skills are also desirable:

 * JQuery
 * Mason – or working knowledge of some other web framework
 * PHP (especially Zend framework)
 * Objective C and iPhone or other mobile platforms
 * Flex
 * SVN, git or another source code management system
 * General awareness of emerging front-end web technologies (CSS3, HTML5, etc.)
 * Experience of working with a web services architecture
 * Experience of agile/scrum

Personal Skills

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:

 * Creativity and flair for creating efficient, robust, and well structured code
 * A track record of strong productivity in a development environment
 * A well organized individual
 * A clear communicator will all levels of the technology
   department (from colleagues to CTO)
 * Ability to ensure consistent IT standards are followed
 * Ability to work as part of a team
 * Awareness of agile development methodologies
 * EU/EEC citizen or HSMP/other work permit with at least 2 years remaining
 * Written/spoken French would be an advantage but is not essential

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected
to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within
the organisation and the overall business objectives of the
organisation.
