About the Job


My client is a leading UK web hosting Company. They are seeking to recruit a Perl Developer to step in to a role with real influence, and be part of a team working on some great high profile and successful brands.

 

Core Responsibilities

*         Ensure software under development is managed with appropriate source code control and release processes

*         Ensure software adheres to relevant coding standards and is documented using internal systems

*         Interact with the product managers to gather requirements, deploy and when relevant support our systems

*         Work with Hosting Operations when researching & designing new products as well as offering support to ensure relevant SLA's are met

 

Experience required

*         Training in Linux-related tools & technologies

*         Minimum three years experience developing applications using Perl as a primary job role in a commercial environment

*         Above average knowledge of relational databases and db design (particularly MySQL)

*         Experience of object oriented design and development using PERL

*         Experience of creating unit test

*         Good communication skills

*         Able to manage competing deadlines and priorities  

*         Experienced at working in a team environment.
