I am a recruitment consultant, and I have a client who is looking for a Perl developer for a 6 month contract in South West London. 

 

They are a company that develops a number of public facing websites for high profile clients, and they need somebody with an excellent working knowledge of application development practices and methodologies including secure programming. 

 

The techs are:

 

Essential:

*         Perl 5 

*         Oracle or MySQL, Sybase etc

*         Web development 

*         Linux or Unix 

*         Understanding of web security best practices

 

Desirable:

*         CPAN/ Comprehensive Perl Archive Network

*         Internet protocols e.g., SMTP, POP, FTP, SSH, HTTP, SOAP etc.

*         Subversion or CVS

*         Data import / export

*         JavaScript / JSON

*         PHP 4/5

*         FastCGI::Template or Mason, Template Toolkit etc.

*         XML

*         Content Management

*         Zeus webserver or Apache

*         TCP/IP

*         Problem Solver

*         Catalyst (or another Perl framework)
