Description: A Global Investment Bank seeks a highly experienced Perl developer with Java, SQL, Sybase and FX for a new Front
Office project team. The role will be working on a number of new enhancements required by the business while
providing some BAU capacity.
Key Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Perl and Unix shell scripting (including bash and ksh)
- Proficiency in auxiliary Unix related technologies like Samba, NFS.
- XML, XSD and XSLT knowledge
- Understanding of SOAP, SSH and asynchronous communication protocols
- Strong SQL (ideally Sybase), use of ODBC and basic database operational and design/modelling knowledge
- Object oriented design and design pattern knowledge
- Knowledge of the Murex database schema
- Experience in configuring Murex middleware (Launchers, load-balancing, multiple server configurations)
- Experience with Java (version 6) server-side development and JAX-WS (Metro implementation)

- Proficiency in auxiliary Unix related technologies like Samba, NFS.

- Strong SQL (ideally Sybase), use of ODBC and basic database operational and design/modelling knowledge
- Object oriented design and design pattern knowledge
- Good Murex background preferably Murex version 3.1.9+
- Knowledge of the Murex database schema
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and a keenness to utilise software development methodologies and
associated tools (build automation, continuous integration, SCM utilisation, code static analysis, unit, user and
integration testing, release automation, etc) including knowledge and rigorous use of software testing processes

Desired skills: - Remote command invocation and client-server communication principles
- Ability to performance tune Sybase databases and tables
- Familiarity with derivative products, ideally Equity , full trade lifecycle and market events.
- Experienced in software development in a front office environment
- Web service development, including experience with Apache Tomcat, WSDLs
- Experience with Java (version 6) server-side development and JAX-WS (Metro implementation)
