Perl Developer

My client is a global Tier 1 Network provider with a very successful
European Managed Hosting / IT Managed Services business. Over a number of
years they have designed and built in the UK a sophisticated, complex and
code-intensive suite of OSS (Operational Support Systems) solutions which
have been widely adopted by the European business and is potentially to be
rolled out globally in the next few years.

This position sits in a team of 7 highly enthusiastic, passionate Perl
developers. They enjoy working on large, complex solutions development (the
entire system contains upwards of 500k lines of code) where peer reviewed
quality code is valued. The successful Perl Developer will have:

 

.         Significant experience of coding in Perl

.         Experience of working on applications with large databases

.         Strong web based application design capability

.         Good Linux / Unix knowledge including shell-scripting

.         Exposure to other development technologies such as Python, C, C++

.         SQL knowledge

It is likely that the successful Perl Developer will be someone with a
passion for developing software. They will be looking to work with a team of
like-minded people in a quality driven environment delivering OSS solutions
in what is unquestionably one of Europe's leading Managed Services provider
environments.
