An exciting opportunity for a talented Perl developer with a minimum of
five years commercial experience to join a leading digital agency
specialising in the Automotive industry.

You should be able to demonstrate an essential working knowledge of Perl 5
and Oracle (or MySQL) within Linux/Unix environment.

You will be an experienced programmer with excellent working knowledge of
application development best practices and methodologies including secure
programming. You must possess strong communication skills - both written,
verbal and an ability to liaise with account managers as well as clients.

You will also keep abreast of the latest technologies and be forward
thinking when it comes to technical and creative solutions when working on
projects.

The candidate must be confident and be able to work independently or as
part of a team.

You must be able to complete projects to an exceptional standard, sometimes
under some amount of pressure.

Essential:

• Perl 5 (+3 years and still current, especially CGI)
• Oracle (+3 years and still current, or MySQL, Sybase etc.)
• Web development (+2 years and still current)
• Linux or Unix (+2 years and still current)
• Understanding of web security best practices

Very desirable in no particular order:

• CPAN
• Internet protocols (e.g., SMTP, POP, FTP, SSH, HTTP, SOAP etc.)
• Subversion & GIT
• Data import / export
• JavaScript / JSON
• PHP 4/5
• Template::Toolkit, FastCGI::Template (or Mason, etc.)
• XML
• Content Management

Preference given to, in no particular order:

• Zeus / Apache webservers
• TCP/IP
• Problem Solver
• Catalyst (or another Perl framework)
