looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Perl Developer) to join a
world-class team responsible for delivering the next-generation
bbc.co.uk/iPlayer website and other online services.<br>

As Senior Software Engineer (Perl Developer) you will have an excellent
knowledge of Perl, web frameworks (Catalyst, Mason, TT), RESTful web services,
security, caching, designing for performance, mySql and web standards, along
with proven experience of working in a mixed discipline team on large scale web
application projects. Knowledge and experience with large scale social media
applications is also an advantage.<br>

It is essential that you have significant experience working with Perl on high
volume commercial web applications and competence in one or more established
web frameworks for example, Catalyst, Mason, TT, Zope, Django or Spring. In
addition you will have good knowledge of mySql, DBIx::Class or other ORM
frameworks . You will have the ability to work in an unstructured, fast
changing environment with rapid release cycles. Proven experience of commercial
web development processes. You will also have experience of software quality
practice e.g. TDD, continuous integration, version control, release automation,
and software quality metrics. While not essential it would be beneficial for
you to have some experience in one or more of the following, memcached, Lucene,
