Job Title: Lead Developer<br>Department: Research and Development<br>Location: Rochester, Kent<br>Salary Range: 25 - 35K depending on skills and experience<br>Reporting to: Technical Director<br><br>Job Description:<br><br>Working as the lead developer in a leading security testing company<br>based in Rochester, Kent.<br><br>Responsible for maintaining and improving the vulnerability assessment,<br>penetration testing and report generation systems; and proposing and<br>implementing strategic changes in the system configuration.<br><br>Responsible for three staff: two system administrators, one in the<br>Rochester office and one at a remote office; and one developer who is in<br>the remote office.<br><br>This is an ideal job for an experienced Perl developer with an interest<br>in security testing.<br><br>Skills & abilities:<br><br>- Essential:<br><br>o Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking and common protocols.<br>o Linux administration and use, ideally Debian.<br>o Good Perl programming skills.<br>o Database administration and programming skills, preferably postgresql.<br>o Use of version control systems, preferably subversion.<br>o Ability to guide and develop other development and sysadmin staff.<br><br>- Desirable:<br><br>o Knowledge of other programming and scripting languages: C, bash.<br>o Network equipment administration, preferably cisco.<br>o Knowledge or experience of vulnerability assessment or penetration<br> testing.<br>o Windows administration, including active directory.<br>o Web development skills: knowledge of Apache, HTML and CSS.<br>o Understanding of VPN technologies: IPsec and SSL/TLS and the<br> associated protocols, methods and algorithms.<br>o Knowledge of XML and XSLT.<br><br>Character & Personal Qualities:<br><br>o An interest in security testing, development and open source software.<br>o Ability to communicate with senior management.<br>o An ability to balance and prioritise work.<br>o Able to delegate where appropriate.<br><br>Qualifications & Experience:<br><br>o At least one year's Perl programming experience, preferably more.<br>o Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally a 2:2 or<br> higher in a computing, science or engineering discipline<br><br>Ideal Qualities:<br><br>o An in-depth knowledge of current methodologies, techniques and<br> applications.<br>o Someone who keeps themselves up to date with the latest technologies.<br>o An open source advocate, but not a zealot or fanboy.<br><br>Contact Details:<br><br>Applications in email to: dev2009@nta-monitor.com<br><br> <br /><hr />Chat to your friends for free on selected mobiles. <a href='http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/174426567/direct/01/' target='_new'>Learn more.</a></body>
