1. LPW 2010 Hackathon<br>
<br>
Tom Doran, known to many of you as the Catalyst release manager
and t0m on many IRC channels, has decided to run a hackathon on
the Sunday following the conference. You can find more details
and how to register here:<br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://lpw2010hackathon.eventbrite.com/">http://lpw2010hackathon.eventbrite.com/</a><br>
<br>
Please look at the bottom of this newsletter for more
information taken from the eventbrite site. If anyone else
wishes to host a hackathon (i.e. if the places fill up on this
event) then please let me know. Tom has decided that it will be
an open event where people can hack on any project they wish.<br>

Modern Web Programming in Perl<br>
<br>
Once again the magnificent Dave Cross, under the guise of his
Training Company Magnum Solutions (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://mag-sol.com/">http://mag-sol.com/</a>) will be
conducting a training session at the Workshop. The places will
be initially offered to students of the university but there
will no doubt be room for other attendees as in previous years.<br>
<br>
The subject this year is Modern Web Programming in Perl, Dave
has indicated that a good percentage will be based around Plack.
If you are new to Perl and web programming or new to Plack and
Modern Perl development and deployment this class will be a
must-see.<br>
<br>
The biggest draw is Dave Cross himself an experienced Perl
programmer and excellent tutor who commands good rates for his
training courses. Once again this year we are presenting a free
class for attendees. The class will take 120-180 minutes on the
day, more details to be announced.<br>

London hackspace:<span class="vevent"><span class="description"><br>
<p style="text-align: left;">On Sunday 6th December, London
Hackspace will be pleased to hold a hackathon for any perl
hackers who would like to get together and work on projects or
continue socialising on the day after the conference. This
hackathon doesn't have a specific topic, so anyone working on
anything is welcome. <br>
</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Power, Wifi and space will be
graciously hosted by the London hackspace, a non-profit hacker
space in central London. This event is free (but <strong>very
limited capacity</strong>), but if you attend, please make a
donation to the space for what you think it is worth.</p>
<p><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://london.hackspace.org.uk/">http://london.hackspace.org.uk/</a></p>
<br>
<p>Hope to see some of you there! <br>

<p>Cheers</p>

This year's theme is Perl Flavours. Unlike previous years the
keynote will be decided from the most appropriate 40 minute
talk that best fits this theme. The proposal deadline is 12th
