Quite. I fail to see the point of them, when I can just as easily run a
clock and a calculator application, or put a weather forecast in the
menu bar. Apple even provide fairly easy ways of hiding them from view.
Unfortunately there is no way that I can see to completely disable
widgets, so occasionally a finger hits a stray key and that rubbish pops
up, and I have to think for a moment about how to get rid of it.
