For extra mirth, wire it across the mains on the back bench in
the Physics lab, having first ensured that the central power
breaker is switched off.  Do this before class begins.

Wait patiently while the physics teacher arrives, begins the
lesson, explains some theory or other, and then dispatches you
to perform the experiment du jour.

Make the observation: "Sir, my oscilloscope isn't working" and
offer the hypothesis that "Perhaps Sir needs to reset the power
breaker?"...
