It depends a lot on who wrote the package declaration.
In my specific case, there are lots of packages for database
access named as "Company::DB", or "Product::Something::DB". And I'm
pretty sure someone even declared a package "DB" somewhere, or messed
up with the namespaces enough to leak something into this namespace.
That's generally what happens when you hire java programmers to
code perl.
