Let me explain...

If the monitor is your own, personal kit, take it down to your local 
tip  It is domestic waste.  The disposal is covered as part of your 
domestic rates.

Skips are hired by people that need to get rid of stuff that is not 
domestic waste.  I think that the going rate for a standard 5m^3 skip is 
150 quid.  30 quid per m^3.  If I guess that you can fit 8 monitors in a 
cubic meter, then you just stole a couple of quid's worth of skip from them.

On top of this, the rate for the skip depends on the contents.  Waste 
electrical stuff is specialist waste, not for landfill.  The poor skip 
renter may get hit by a penalty for the contaminated waste.
