I can't make specific comments, but my experience of various medical 
specialists is not dissimilar. On the route to my recent assessment for 
dyslexia I have seen various professionals who have given me various 
bits of advice. For example a psychiatrist said there is no point in 
going for a diagnosis because there is no cure.  In fact I am finding 
the diagnosis I have is extremely helpful in finding ways that I and my 
employer can help me.
