Why Perl needs a .sig like Kibo's

Curiously enough, while perusing Kibo's legendary .sig, I found this:

   I WROTE IT ALL BY MYSELF BUT THANKS TO MARK AND JASON DOMINUS

I wonder if that's the same MJD?

Anyway, I have a Kibo number of 1/2 (has been kissed by Kibo and told "I 
totally love you man, you're like my best friend"), so I'm allowed.
