Teaching them how to learn more for themselves:

1) perldoc (including showing them where the perlfaq and perldoc -f are)
2) Books (pointing out, in no particular order, learning perl, the  
camel, data munging with perl, perl best practices)
3) Websites (search.cpan.org, learn.perl.org, use.perl.org,  
books.perl.org)
