Ah, but it is not writing the code that is important, it is getting
the architecture right.

You may well find that it is not handling your 'clicks' and recording
them that is tricky, but rather processing that data once you have it.

You'll need to see what sort of reports you want to generate, how to
filter out bad data, what lag you are prepared to tolerate in the
reporting, how to archive historic data, etc, etc.

My guess is that you are looking at some sort of pay per click site
and so you will need to tackle fraud. Enjoy!
