You know, that bugs me. Obviously nobody is obliged to release the  
source to any particular thing - but it seems anomalous that the  
source for search.cpan.org isn't available for the community to  
peruse and, possibly, improve. It's such a key piece in the Perl jigsaw.

I'm not sure that's the nature of the problem. I've just looked  
through the first fifteen pages of results and I can't see CGI.pm  
there - but there are other short matches - including a match for  
'cgi' which probably isn't the one you want.
