Living the Metaphor

Last night in the pub our boss explained why our shiny new office
doesn't yet have the planned bike racks.

It's because there's been a decision the racks should have a roof over
them.  Which has delayed it because the parties involved -- our company,
the landlord, and the business park management -- are unable to agree on
what colour the roof should be!

I couldn't believe we're actually in the middle of something so close to
the canonical example.
