1) Finding accomodation : http://www.gumtree.com/, http://www.loot.com/
2) Finding jobs - try uknot, gllug, jobserve and jobs.perl.org (that
last one assumes you have perl skills, which you don't mention in your
email).

Quick hint - it's considered polite to use google to find out most of
this information - mailing lists like this have archives you can
search through.
