So for logs it might do the trick, but sounds like trying to build a  
db on it would be rather risky.  Leon: was it the functionality or  
the implementation (or both) that put you off?

I wonder if 4.0 would be any more reliable/useful?  Though the last  
release was in 2006, the mailing list is still active.  Prolly a  
matter of 'watch this space'.
