Indeed. I lived perfectly adequately in a decent, roomy 1-bed flat in
Kennignton on £34k in my first job in London (and the UK for that
matter). I even managed to nourish my whisky habit and put aside more
money than I did in Oslo on a similar gross salary (okay, the flat in
Oslo quite a bit newer, but unfurnished and about the same price).
