That's the bit i'm not sure about, whether it'll let you.

On the other hand, the aim was for all the horrible gnomy crap to go  
away (a sentiment I echo today after I can't make the software update  
dialog not pop up every 5 minutes after instructing it never to check  
for updates. *fume*).
