I organised tech meets for a while but it got increasingly harder to find
willing speakers. Leon then took the role back under his control and did an
excellent job of getting more talks.

It's very handy to have a single person who knows who's already declined
and who's ready for another round of wheedling. And that's before you
consider dealing with venues.
