Since your CV mentions you've some knowledge/experience of the
Catalyst web framework, why not hop onto that project's IRC channel
(irc.perl.org#catalyst) and ask for ideas of things to hack on? If
you're motivated to get better at Perl while also learning Catalyst
internals (the latter skill being relatively marketable within the
London Perl employer scene) I would expect the Catalyst team to be
happy to mentor you through that learning process.
