Not really. Have you never had Scottish shortbread? It's kind of soft and
a bit crumbly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shortbread
They don't normally use almond, but it makes the texture a lot better. They
don't tend to taste almondy, they tend just to taste of butter. :-)
