Advice about becoming a freelance Perl programmer

Hi,

I am thinking about doing some freelance Perl programming and I wanted 
to ask the list for their advice on this matter. Just thought I would 
check that

1) This is the appropriate place for such questions and
2) Its OK if if I attach my 50KB CV and 960KB portfolio in PDF format

I considered the jobs mailing list but I am not a recruiter so this list 
seems like the right place to me.
