A dim sum meal consists of many small dishes ordered as and when
desired, so it is perfectly possible to join in part way through; but
since most people will have to return to work afterwards, we do need
to start on time. The cost of the meal varies depending on how
many dishes are ordered, but the bill excluding drinks other than
tea (which is provided free) is generally about a tenner per
person.

Unfortunately, dim sum does not work very well for vegetarians,
and not at all for vegans. You can find out
more about dim sum
