Role:       Software Engineer
Grade:      7
Reporting to:  Technical Project Manager, Internet Group 

Aims of the role:
This world leading Broadcast & Media company is seeking Perl programmer. 
Increasingly delivering flexible and innovative services which respond to 
the possibilities summarised in the umbrella term “web 2.0”.  The 
programmes team as part of the  internet group is responsible for the 
management and publication of programme information to support all areas 
of the organisation


The role is to:
work as part of an existing team to build, test and deploy public-facing 
and internal apps
plan your work and track its progress alongside technical project managers



Skills
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following 
skills and experience:

mod_perl
Rails
SVN, git
Mac OSX, Linux
VMWare, xen
TDD, CI
Scrum Agile development methodology
