I'm in a similar situation.  I have a C64 and, somewhere, the cabling to 
hook it to my DVD player (which goes via S-video to a monitor).  Once that 
is connected I will, um, relive the glory days of BASIC? Right.

You're the 3rd person to mention The Soul of a New Machine.  Must get a 
copy of that for the nightstand.
