AMQP

Hi folks,

does anyone have any experience of getting a Perl client to work with an AMQP server?

http://www.openamq.org/ claims to support Perl via WireAPI, is this as in ... if you
write your own library/code?

(as an aside has anyone every decided what to do when a client/code exists outside CPAN
 in terms of pointing at it from a CPAN search? e.g. a placeholder module such as 
 Breadcrumb::AMQP?)

Also, and this is really a newb question, does AMQP support any sort of secure protocol
access?
