I guess that's the hard part. Probably lays somewhere between what is 
true and what I believe :)

On a side note I now understand this serial port thing... well IPMI 2 
anyway. Whilst checking the spec on my server for some clues it turns 
out it has an addon BMC card, that itself can have an addon LAN card for 
remote access. I'll be calling computer 2000 tomorrow to see how much it 
costs. Thank you very much to the people that pointed me to this and 
gave me more details than just "serial port access" so I was able to 
look it up and figure it out. It's much appreciated. They had a Power 
point presentation for it here:-
