Yeah, paper tickets seem to be the only way of using it to Heathrow.

Between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington travelling on Heathrow Connect
with an Oyster Card doesn't have an additional Nation Rail fare: it's
the same price as a Tube journey between stations in those zones.
But for the last stage -- between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow --
Oyster Cards and Travelcards are not valid at all; you have to buy a
single or return ticket for that part of the journey. That's what I'm
trying to avoid.

Yeah, that's what I was doing (but trying it with various nearby
stations). Then I had this idea "Hey, a computer could automate this
task". One day ...
