I think that Americans were given the benefit of the doubt after the
first election, but after the second one people actually believe we (yes
I'm American) all like him.  This is not the case by the way. :)  

I have had some tough times here when people asked where I am from.


As for the Maple Leaf:

Look out for the bar staff . . . With their beady little eyes and flappy
heads . . .
