Living in a more progressive part of the country we've had a smoking
ban for years and I really like it. Friends who are smokers don't
seem to mind it too much and for the non-smokers it's a great thing.
Pubs are still pubs, they just no longer smell of smoke and nor do
you and your clothes the next day.
As an added bonus there's a noticeable increase in the number of pubs
with beer gardens - although in practice this often translates to the
scruffy bit out the back of the pub where they used to store junk now
has some tables.
And it doesn't seem to have any effect on the number of people in the
pubs I frequent.
 1.2 ish.
