Dear Monger,

It seems that February is nearly here and I've had to reach for my
electronic pencil quicker than a daily mail reader might do to write
a letter of complaint about common law marriage couples getting
preferential mortgage rates.

Anyway we have a date (7/2/2008) and a location ...

All hail our glorious pub minion Kake and feel free to buy her cidah
and update the above website with reviews good and bad.

I've been to this pub as part of the exploration party and the beer
was good and the food was definetly worth a mention.

Ash took a shot of the sausage, mash and york. pudding I ordered and
it was as tasty as it looks ...

Heres the standard blurb ...

Social meets are a chance for the various members of the group to meet
up face to face and chat with each other about things - both Perl and
non Perl - and newcomers are more than welcome. The monthly meets tend to
be bigger than the other ad hoc meetings that take place at other times
and we make sure that they're in easy to get to locations and the pub
serves food (meaning that people can eat in the bar if they want to.)
They normally start around 6.30pm (or whenever people get there after
work) and a group tends to be left come closing time.

If you're a new comer or other first timer (even if you've been lurking
on the mailing list or on IRC) then please seek me out - we have a
tradition that the leader of this motley crew buys the new people a
drink (alcoholic or not, either's fine) and introduce them to people.

**

I'll reply to this message if nobody else does with a list of nearby
stations and bus routes, however in the spirit of Perl Mongers 2.0
feel free to do it yourself as I'm sure it will lead to geeky
conversations and a lot of you know more about public transport than
i do.

G.
